One of the great mysteries of the Internet universe is getting free traffic to your website. There are tons of ways to get traffic but only a few are really dynamic or viral for that matter. You need to do all but Organic Traffic is the best by far because 1) it works, 2) it’s free and 3) it’s targeted to your niche. That being said, Organic traffic can take many months to come to fruition, even for just one keyword or keyword phrase. You could shortcut the process by hiring an SEO firm, however a good reliable one will cost you dearly. If you want free targeted traffic there is another way.

My latest favorite, besides Article Marketing, is Twitter. How can this be? A social networking site that will work for home business? Yes. Twitter is growing in leaps and bounds as is FaceBook. I like Twitter for it’s simplicity and raw ability to provide a constant flow of traffic as well as a means of instant messaging a group of followers that specifically signed up to hear what you say. In Internet Marketing terms it doesn’t get any better than this. As you build your “follower” list you are building a group of potential customers as well. Accumulating followers is akin to finding potential customers, the difference on Twitter is not the hard sell but the soft sell.

The potential uses of Twitter are substantial. Your followers become your potential product customers because they signed up to your Twitter account. That means that they are interested in your message. You can widen or narrow your audience through your Tweets. Take for example a political Twitter page. Tweeting your message to your followers is just the beginning because they can re-tweet your message to their followers and so on. This is viral marketing at its best especially when you are tweeting your message with the URL you are promoting attached to your Tweet.

A while back Ashton Kutcher was having a little fun, for a good cause. He was baiting Ted Turner on his Twitter page to race him to see who could garner one million followers first. The loser would have to supply netting for African tribes that needed it to protect children from a deadly mosquito bites. It all unfolded in a matter of weeks. Outside of helping those children it demonstrated how powerful this medium is.

If this seems confusing or complicated it isn’t. We can show you how to maximize Twitter for your business needs.
